Hello!
I'm Alec, a software developer and avid card game player. If you're here for more specific information, use the navigation bar on the left to find what you need.
A little about me:
Although I was born in Britain, I have lived in the area Milwaukee since 2012. I find that Wisconsin is a great area, and I'm proud to be a Wisconsinite. While I do intend to travel for a year or so starting in 2027, Wisconsin will likely be my home for life.
In my free time, I enjoy playing Magic: the Gathering, One Piece TCG, and Dungeons and Dragons. As you can probably tell, I much prefer physical games, as I enjoy the social aspects of them (I'm also really bad at video games). Despite my love for physical games, I have a strong apptitude for software development. I find that programming is like the virtual and conceptual version of algebra, which has always been an area of mathematics I've strongly enjoyed.
Currently, I'm working in software development for my position as Student Undergraduate Research Assistant for Professor Jerald Thomas at UWM, which I find, not only fulfilling, but also highly educational. Additionally, I am working part time at a new game store: Old Guard Games, located near UWM. As it is a new store, I am given opportunities to try new events and I have a large input on the way the store will opperate. Overall, I enjoy both my jobs, but I look forward to doing Software Development full time in the future.
